C&C plays down talk of London stock shift

By Peter Flanagan

Cider maker C&C has moved to play down suggestions it is poised to move its primary listing to the London Stock Exchange (LSE) but admitted it is "monitoring" its position on the Dublin market.

Weekend reports had indicated the company - which has Bulmers and Magners Cider among its brands - was poised to shift its primary listing to London in the search for more investment and greater liquidity in its shares.

A C&C spokesman minimised the importance of the report, saying nothing had changed: "C&C is monitoring its position as to its listing on the Irish Stock Exchange, but we have no immediate plans to do anything."

If C&C were to leave, it would be the third big blow to the Dublin exchange in recent months.

Construction giant CRH switched its primary listing to London last November, while ready meals maker Greencore delisted from the ISE in January as part of a shift to London.
