Clanmil set to create 500 jobs
Housing association Clanmil has announced it will generate 500 construction jobs as it builds thousands of new homes after agreeing a new finance deal.
The group said it had reached "attractive terms" to borrow £60m from Danske Bank, £50m from First Trust and £25m from Ulster Bank.
The association added that the funding would allow it to access grants from the Department for Communities so that it would ultimately be able to spend £315m.
The company, which is one of Northern Ireland's main landlords in the social housing sector, explained the projects would generate up to 500 construction jobs and support more than 400 other posts.
Chairman Steve Amos said: "Deals of this volume with three lenders represent a vote of confidence in the social housing sector and our ability to deliver on ambitious targets."
He added the deals were also good for the public and would make taxpayers' cash go further.
