Clarification: Killyhevlin Hotel Ltd

A report on page 35 on March 3 (Profits down at Killyhevlin as hotel booking sites hit rates) referred to a fall in pre-tax profits from £1.6m to £482,000 at Killyhevlin Hotel Ltd.

We would like to add that pre-tax profits of £1.6m a year earlier were partly due to the impact a year of an exceptional item of £800,000. Operating profit from 2015, less £800,000, was £719,337, and fell 37% to £462,415 to 2016. The company had spent a total of £719,337, an increase of £354,009, on refurbishments in the year to September 30 2016. It has asked us to point out that pressure from booking websites had no impact on operating profits. Remarks about "aggressive pricing" from hotel websites were commentary on the industry in general.
