Co Down firm is hot on 'non-touch' market
A medical devices company in Co Down has acquired the US manufacturer of a 'non-touch' thermometer.
ARC Devices in Holywood has paid an undisclosed sum for Brooklands Inc in Florida, which makes the VeraTemp thermometer. ARC managing director Kelvin Paul said: "The Brooklands acquisition has been a key factor in our company's growth strategy since day one.
"We've put together a world-class team at ARC who bring an outstanding bank of experience to the table. The synergy of international and local expertise within the company is quite unique."
VeraTemp is the world's best selling non-touch thermometer, and uses an infrared sensor to measure temperature.
ARC plans to expand sales of the VeraTemp into mainland Europe, Russia, and the Middle East.
