A new coffee and muffin shop opened in Co Down shopping destination The Outlet yesterday, with the creation of 11 new jobs.

The Banbridge coffee shop is the first store from BB's Coffee and Muffins in Northern Ireland, though it already has 49 elsewhere in the UK and the Republic.

The Outlet also recently welcomed golfing brand Golf Nation and extensions to interiors firm Bedeck, pottery retailer Denby and outdoor sports brand Regatta.

BB's started out at a shopping centre in Southport, Australia, and the chain now operates on a franchise basis.

Outlet manager Chris Nelmes said: "The brand will be a fantastic addition to our existing food offering, in a unique setting, which will provide even more choice for our visitors as they enjoy their day out with us."

Andrew Moyes, BB's chief executive, said the location was a "fantastic fit" for the brand.

"We are delighted that we can show off BB's character through our unique, locally-themed store decor," he added. "We hope visitors enjoy their BB's experience and we look forward to welcoming everyone to the new store."

The shop's decor is inspired by annual Banbridge music festival Buskfest.
