Competitive Frank Design beats big boys to go global

A specialist Belfast design consultancy is planning renewed expansion after taking on and beating some of the big boys of the industry in London and New York.

Frank Design and Communications, based in the city’s Cathedral Quarter, is increasingly being called in by international clients because of its skills and competitive pricing against bigger agencies.

Managing director Damian Cranney said carrying out more projects outside Northern Ireland was enabling the firm to continue with its growth plans despite the recession.

“We have a strong local client base, including Invest Northern Ireland, Belfast City Council and BBC Northern Ireland, among others, which we've been able to add to over the past couple of years.

“In addition we have increasingly been able to secure business outside Northern Ireland due to our skills set and because we can price competitively against agencies in places like London and New York.

“We've therefore taken on four new staff in the past 12 months and are planning to increase our headcount further in the months ahead.”

It is also developing a new brand, marketing materials and website for London-based international technology business IM Global.

It has also carried out design work for luxury hotels in Mexico, Colorado, Austria and Germany which are all part of the US based West Paces Hotel Group.
