Crossgar firm makes £600k investment ahead of trade expo
A food delivery company which was acquired by a new American owner in 2012 is celebrating a £600,000 investment in 15 new lorries.
Crossgar Foodservice was acquired by Pallas Foods in the Republic on behalf of its US owners, Sysco Corporation.
Now the brands of Crossgar Foodservice and Pallas Foods have been fully integrated in Northern Ireland and the entire fleet of 30 vehicles has been rebranded with the Crossgar Pallas livery.
As a result of the combined buying and distribution of both companies, the product range on offer to customers has increased to over 10,000 lines, which supports over 6,000 direct and indirect jobs in Northern Ireland.
The seven new 15-tonne multi-temperature lorries have just arrived ahead of a company trade expo at the Hilton in Templepatrick next week.
Michael Morrissey, director of foodservice with Crossgar Pallas in Northern Ireland, said that the company has also completed an investment in an advanced computer system which has simplified the ordering process for customers.
"For our customers, Crossgar Pallas now offers one of the largest ranges in foodservice across Ireland, including local products from over 30 Northern Irish suppliers as well as Irish suppliers and the best of international products," he said.
"Our trade show is where our current and new customers will be able to view, and most importantly taste, our extended range."
Many of the products that will be on show at Crossgar Pallas' 'inspiration' trade expo on September 22 and 23 are Great Taste award-winning products.
