Dale Farm celebrates export deals to Spain
Dale farm, Northern Ireland's biggest dairy company, has announced major retail deals in Spain to supply cheese, butter and dairy spreads.
The contracts to supply its Dromona range of goods follow a recent tasting in Barcelona, supported by Invest NI, at which Dale Farm's cheeses were sampled by some of Spain's biggest retail buyers.
The products will initially be sold in stores along the holiday coastal regions and islands, before they are supplied nationwide.
Dale Farm group chief executive, David Dobbin, said: "This is an important contract for Dale Farm as it strengthens our distribution in Spain, a country renowned for its passion for food. While the initial target consumer will be the many British and Irish holiday makers in the country looking for brands and products they know and trust, we also expect to win over Spanish consumers who want to try top quality Northern Irish dairy produce.
"Dale Farm's exports into Europe are showing strong year-on-year growth and our products are now on sale in seven different EU countries. Clearly the quality of our local milk and dairy produce is driving this growth."
Dale Farm is one of Northern Ireland's biggest food exporters.
The company sells dairy-based products to over 40 countries worldwide including China, Russia, the Middle East, North Africa and Southern America.
