A Family-run clothing firm in Londonderry is targeting £8m in sales of uniforms and workwear.

Hunters Apparel Solutions, which supplies military, transport, utilities and postal customers, is the leading UK supplier of Britain's fire service uniforms and also serves the Home Office and Metropolitan Police.

The company dates back to 1936 and employs 42 people on the Springtown Industrial Estate.

Now the business is set to achieve sales of nearly £8m this year, compared to £4.6m for 2013, and has just won the UK's top three Professional Clothing awards for its achievements.

The firm has secured trade finance facilities from HSBC in Northern Ireland to support the import of materials and clothing from suppliers from South East Asia, Eastern Europe and North Africa, as well as working capital facilities. The finance has come from HSBC's new £100m fund specifically to support Northern Irish businesses.
