Devenish site can meet high demand

A Belfast agri-technology firm has secured a second new facility in England.

Devenish was established in 1952 and now has six manufacturing and research facilities throughout Great Britain and Ireland, two sites in North America, one in Minnesota and one in Iowa.

Its recently-formed international division is actively selling products in to more than 25 countries across three continents from its headquarters in Northern Ireland.

The firm researches, develops and manufactures a range of food products for the livestock sector.

The new Widnes site has multiple production lines. An onsite laboratory will be modified to allow for testing on both raw materials and finished goods.

Patrick McLaughlin, chief executive of Devenish Nutrition, said: "The site will significantly increase our production capacity and... meet growing demand."

Devenish Nutrition's mill in Belfast is currently in the middle of a £3m investment programme.
