E-learning firm snaps up app agency

A Londonderry e-learning company has acquired a mobile app development agency with offices in Belfast and London.

Learning Pool has bought over Paper Bag. It aims to speed the delivery of mobile services to its 300 customers and extend its reach across new product areas.

Paper Bag will retain its own brand identity and new jobs are expected to be created.

Learning Pool's co-founder Paul McElvaney said that mobile learning is a growth area.

"Many of our competitors are struggling to get to grips with the useful offerings in this space," he said.

"This acquisition gives Learning Pool the opportunity to jump to the forefront of mobile learning and we're really excited about the opportunity that this brings".

Gary Gallagher, co-founder at Paper Bag added: "Having the backing of an organisation like Learning Pool will enable Paper Bag to do what it does best – build great enterprise apps."
