Engineering firm William Coates bag award for Windsor Park development
A Northern Ireland engineering firm has landed a national award for its work at Windsor Park.
Mallusk-based electrical and mechanical engineering business William Coates was named contractor of the year for businesses with up to £20m a year in turnover at the ECA annual awards.
Paul Dickson, managing director of William Coates, said: "Winning this ECA award is a huge achievement for everyone at William Coates. It demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent, innovative and high quality work which provided tangible results for our clients.
"It also shines a spotlight on the expertise of our fantastic team who are committed to driving the business forward.
"We are especially delighted that our entry showcased our work on the national football stadium at Windsor Park. This was a special moment for us as it was an opportunity to nurture new talent through our apprenticeship scheme, something which we aim to continue for the future.
"The ECA award will enable us to raise our profile across the UK and help us show how a Northern Ireland-based business can be an industry leader."
Helen Atkinson, awards adjudicator, said: "Many congratulations to William Coates and the other ECA member businesses who won awards this year - they were up against impressive competition.
"These awards recognise the very best of ECA member accomplishments and are a sought after accolade within the industry."
William Coates was formed in 1961 as an electrical installation engineering contractor, before expanding into mechanical engineering in 1998.
