The expansion of poultry firm Moy Park is heating up business for a manufacturer in Co Antrim as it creates 15 new jobs.

Copper Industries in Toome is the only company in Northern Ireland which makes hot water storage cylinders and buffer tanks.

But the company said orders had increased "dramatically" in the last six months so that it was now manufacturing around the clock to fulfil orders.

And the growth was mainly fuelled by the poultry sector, with Copper Industries now joining Moy Park's grower expansion programme, which aims to increase capacity across Northern Ireland by 400 new poultry houses.

Copper Industries director Cathal Shivers said: "We're ideally positioned to meet the surge in demand from the farming community and, as the only locally-owned company with the capabilities to provide such a bespoke service, we look forward to growing this area of our business in the months ahead."

Moy Park's Brian Gibson said: "This is a good news story for the local economy and we're delighted our expansion programme is providing a welcome boost to other companies."
