Extension plans at Jurys Inn Belfast

By John Mulgrew

Published 15/10/2015

Plans are progressing to expand Jurys Inn hotel in Belfast city centre - adding 80 new bedrooms and an office suite.

The rear extension would significantly grow the popular city centre spot, adding offices, car parking and changes to the front of the building. An application for the changes has been submitted by M & R Estates Limited, which is linked to Co Tyrone construction firm McAleer and Rushe.

The company was behind the construction and development of the popular 190-bedroom hotel in the city's Great Victoria Street back in 1997.

Hotel group Jurys Inn was sold to US private equity firm Lone Star at the beginning of this year in a £680m deal.
