Fashion retailer Next is continuing its expansion in Northern Ireland with the unveiling of a larger store in Enniskillen, Co Fermanagh. Around 30 new jobs are being created at the shop in the Erneside Centre.

The chain employs hundreds of staff in more than 20 outlets across Northern Ireland and is currently building a new store at Bloomfield Shopping Centre in Bangor, which is due to open next spring. Next is one of the UK's most successful retailers, posting pre-tax profits of £347.1m for the six months to July, up 7% on last year.

It has more than 500 stores across the UK and Ireland, and employs around 50,000 people.

It will unveil its Enniskillen store extension on October 28, after a three month redevelopment. It now includes a new 10,000sq ft homeware department and a larger childrenswear area.

Ten of the 30 new jobs will be in the in-store cafe, operated by Ground Espresso.

Next enjoyed a major watershed in its fortunes last year when its pre-tax profits of £695m overtook Marks & Spencer.

Next's clothing sales have also overtaken the high street stalwart in a reversal of fortune for M&S.
