Firm makes inroads into Poland

A consultancy firm hopes to create 10 new jobs by investing in a new export market.

Lloyd Acoustics Ltd is to target £870,000 worth of sales in Poland in the next two years.

Established in 1992, Lloyd Acoustics Ltd provides specialist consultancy services to building and civil engineering companies across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

The Moira, Co Down, company has invested more than £80,000 aimed at targeting business opportunities which may emerge in Poland as it prepares to host the 2012 Uefa European Championship.

Invest NI offered Lloyd Acoustics £13,500 to help secure contracts linked to new road infrastructure and construction projects.

The firm plans to create 10 new jobs by 2013 to support the anticipated business.

Mark Bleakney, manager of Invest NI's southern regional office, said: "Lloyd Acoustics is a resourceful and export focused company. Increasing its workforce and developing a comprehensive marketing strategy will improve Lloyd Acoustics' ability to compete for new business in this expanding and developing region."

Nigel Dillon, managing director of Lloyd Acoustics, said: "We wanted to develop a strategy that would enable us to benefit from the emerging commercial opportunities in Poland's construction sector, specifically in new road infrastructure development.
