First West Yorkshire bus workers' strike suspended
A planned strike by 1,000 bus workers next week has been suspended so talks can be held in a bid to resolve a pay dispute.
Members of Unite in Leeds working for First West Yorkshire were due to walk out on Monday following two stoppages last month.
Unite regional officer Phil Bown said: "The management has been in touch today to say that they now wish to enter into meaningful pay negotiations which will take place under the auspices of the conciliation service, Acas.
"Unite will be entering into these talks in a positive and constructive fashion to seek a fair settlement for our members which would avoid any further industrial action causing inconvenience to the travelling public of Leeds."
