Galgorm group boosted by pre-tax profits of £3.7m
The family-owned company behind the luxury Galgorm Resort & Spa has posted record turnover and surging pre-tax profits of £3.7m, it can be revealed.
The Co Antrim business Tullymore House Ltd - run by Paul and Nicholas Hill - saw turnover rise from £15.8m in 2015, to £18.4m, according to its latest results.
The firm also saw pre-tax profits go up 25%, rising from £2.9m to £3.7m for 2016. The company, which also runs the Fratelli restaurant chain, said its Galgorm resort outside Ballymena had enjoyed a 97% surge in visitors from the Republic in the last year.
General manager Colin Johnston said: "We are concentrating on our out of state business, which is a large target market.
"We are concentrating on out of state tourists and the business and corporate market. A rise in Republic visitors has been massively helped by the currency, but we do think we have done a lot of work to prepare the way."
