Gambling firm losses widen

Interactive gambling company NetPlayTV said full-year losses widened to £11m from £1m as a result of one-off items and the cost of its strategy to focus on partnering major media firms such as ITV and Five.

Boss Martin Higginson described 2009 as a “transformational year”, but said the launch of new services such as Google TV by the end of this year should open up online gambling to millions more players.
