A Co Antrim food company that specialises in gluten-free products has secured a deal with a coffee shop chain.

Antrim-based Rule of Crumb is now supplying gluten-free muffins to Clements, which has 13 coffee shops across Northern Ireland.

Colum McLornam of Rule of Crumb, who is also the owner and manager of the Marine Hotel in Ballycastle, said: "Clements are stocking our full range of gluten-free muffins, giving their coeliac customers a great tasting option to have with their coffee.

"All our muffins are made in Northern Ireland and they taste just like the real thing."

Mr McLornan said he had launched Rule of Crumb inspired by his brother, a coeliac sufferer who found the range of foods available too restrictive.

A gluten-free chicken kiev created by Rule of Crumb was voted number one out of more than 100 new products from across Europe at the From Food/Ingredients expo in Barcelona this year.
