Green gong for retailer Henderson Group
Managing their waste and energy more carefully has helped Spar franchise owner the Henderson Group to win the gong for green retailer of the year at the Ulster Grocer Marketing Awards.
The family-run firm also won best in-store consumer sales promotion and was highly commended in the best marketing campaign category.
The group said its awards showed that a £3.6m spend on marketing in 2014 was paying off.
The best in-store consumer sales promotion was for its Spar shop & win promotion, designed to improve customer loyalty with instant prizes.
The company said the campaign allowed it to "shift the needle against strong competition in the convenience channel and deliver on core marketing objectives".
