‘Green House’ builders in administration

A pioneering building firm based in Holywood which specialised in energy efficient homes has been placed into administration, it was reported last night.

Sky Developments (NI), which is based on the Esplanade in the town, built what was reported to be Northern Ireland's first carbon neutral home. The so-called ‘Green House' was developed at the Esplanade in Holywood and was praised as an innovative, sustainable development.

The firm went on to work |on a series of developments, |including a social housing project in Newtownards.

According to the BBC, financial consultants BDO were appointed as administrators last week.

The construction and development sector in Northern Ireland has been badly affected by the economic downturn.
