'Green' plastics expert to give masterclass

A world expert in greening plastic processing operations will be delivering a masterclass to representatives from the industry in Northern Ireland and the Republic.

Dr Robin Kent will be talking to experts from the Irish plastic industry as he delivers his Masterclass in Energy Management at the Crown Plaza, Dundalk, Co Louth, on May 25.

The day-long masterclass is being hosted by ResourceKraft, who deliver energy management and cost control systems that enable organisations to reduce energy and carbon emission.

Kenny O'Brien, chairman of Plastics Ireland, said: "To have Dr Kent in Ireland speaking about energy usage is a must-attend for organisations in the sector."

Frank Casey, chief executive of ResourceKraft, said: "The masterclass will help those in the plastics industry learn systems for identifying and delivering real energy savings across their plant along with developing action plans to reduce their energy costs."

Dr Kent has been involved with plastics processing for more than 35 years and is the author of 'Energy Management in Plastics Processing'.

He has been technical director for several major plastics processing companies in Europe and provides consultancy for plastics processors, specialising in energy cost management worldwide.
