The Harbour Bar in Portush has been named Northern Ireland's Pub of the Year in a glittering awards ceremony organised by industry body Pubs of Ulster.

Publican and Portrush ambassador Willie Gregg collected the gong in front of hundreds of representatives of the pubs and drinks trade, who'd gathered in the La Mon Hotel and Country Club to toast the best in the business.

For decades, Mr Gregg has been making the pub a welcoming refuge – and has also used it as a means to raise money for charitable causes, which was recognised on the night with another award for Best Charity Initiative.

The Harbour Bar was one of many big winners on Wednesday night.

Belfast was strongly represented with three winners from the city – The Limelight (Best Entertainment), The Garrick (Best Big Idea) and The Hudson Bar (Best New/Improved).

Fionn McAlpine of The Harbour Bar said receiving the award was "a real honour".
