Hastings Group spends £1m on improvements to Europa

Published 12/07/2016

Family-run hotel company Hastings has spent nearly £1m upgrading the Europa Hotel in Belfast city centre. Hastings Group said visitors to the hotel would see the changes "immediately".

Marketing manager Julie Hastings said: "The Europa Hotel has a new grand entrance with an enlarged revolving door and as visitors arrive they will be greeted by a stunning chandelier.

"The Piano Restaurant has a new integral bar and the Lobby Bar has been totally transformed as well.

"The Causerie restaurant and Piano Lounge have also been upgraded and refreshed.

"The hotel looks glorious and we are looking forward to the feedback on our new facilities from our guests around the world and those closer to home."

Ms Hastings said the hotel had been extended by 50% since Hastings acquired it in 1994. But she said the latest improvements would give it a new "wow factor".

Hastings has also invested around £1m on upgrades to its Culloden Estate & Spa outside Belfast, as well as its other properties.

It also owns the city's Stormont Hotel, as well as the Everglades in Londonderry, Slieve Donard in Newcastle and Ballygally Hotel in Larne.

It is also building the new Grand Central Hotel in Bedford Street in Belfast.
