A family which has been farming in Co Down for over 350 years is celebrating the success of their range of award-winning cooking oils.

Jane and Will Harnett manufacture hemp oil products from their farm in Waringstown and said annual sales have now reached one million since they began commercial production in 2002.

They are the only producers of hemp oil in Ireland, which they sell to customers in America, France and Spain as well as Ireland through their online shop www.harnettsoils.com.

The company was one of a select number of artisan food companies from Northern Ireland invited to show off their wares at a supplier event organised by Taste of Ulster at the House of Commons.

Jane Harnett is head of the business, working alongside parents Ann and Michael and brother Will.

She said: "I feel it is our strong family network that has made producing and marketing the oil so successful."
