Hike in beer duty strongly opposed

Drinks body Pubs of Ulster is backing a campaign by the TaxPayers' Alliance against a further increase in beer duty.

Its chief executive Colin Neill said: "With many pubs struggling to get through these tough economic times, a further increase in duty could put the jobs of thousands of people employed within the industry at risk."
