Hundreds of telecom jobs to be created in Northern Ireland by Teleperformance

Around 400 jobs are to be created by a major telecommunications company in Northern Ireland.

Teleperformance UK, part of the global Teleperformance Group, is adding to its staff at sites in Bangor and Newry.

The customer service company represents major clients in the private and public sector and said it is recruiting at least 400 new staff to fill a numbers of roles.

Chief executive of Teleperformance UK Alistair Niederer said: "We are currently enjoying a high level of growth across the UK and are proud to be creating such a boost in Northern Ireland with these vacancies.

"We are looking for talented people that have a passion for delivering excellent customer service."

The announcement was welcomed by Gerard O'Hare, chairman of the Parker Green Group which owns the Quays Complex in Newry where the majority of the jobs will be created.

He said: "We are delighted Teleperformance are expanding their current operation at The Quays Complex in Newry, where over 2,500 people already work on a weekly basis.

"Delivering real jobs right now is a tremendous boost for the local economies and Teleperformance UK are to be congratulated for demonstrating an ongoing commitment to Northern Ireland at this time."
