Irish IT company Codec-dss has opened an office in Belfast as it aims to expand into the UK market.

The company is creating 10 new jobs, with four positions already filled. Its IT services include hardware, consulting and managed services.

Codec-dss, which employs a total of 120 people, is currently recruiting consultants at salaries of around £35,000. In total, the 10 salaries are expected to contribute wages of £440,000 to the economy, according to economic development agency Invest NI.

The agency has offered assistance of £45,000 towards the new jobs, which are based at the firm's offices at the Northern Ireland Science Park.

Codec-dss commercial director John Roddy said: "We offer a great opportunity for newly graduated IT professionals and technical experts, providing training to help them become specialists and further enhance their career development."
