Argento is set to add another outlet to its growing portfolio.

Northern Ireland jeweller Argento has opened a new, bigger store in Belfast's Forestside Shopping Centre, with the creation of 35 new jobs.

The company, which was founded by Pete Boyle, has closed its existing small unit in the centre to move to the bigger unit.

Mr Boyle, who started out in jewellery retail with a stall on Rossnowlagh beach in Donegal in the 1990s, said: "The larger space has meant that we can expand our team at Argento Forestside and continue in the provision of our first class customer care.

"We're eager to meet the high demand for our products across our entire sales platform, between stores and online."

Of 35 new jobs, 20 are temporary posts for the Christmas period.

Argento stores sell jewellery from designers such as Olivia Burton, Ted Baker and Pandora.

There are now 60 Argento shops in the UK and Ireland.
