Journalists add international flavour to Titanic's grand opening

The Northern Ireland Tourist Board has played host to over 50 international journalists attending the opening of Titanic Belfast.

The group included print and broadcast journalists from a range of countries including Germany, Italy, France, Denmark and America as well as Britain.

The visitors attended the official opening ceremony of Titanic Belfast, took a tour of the building and enjoyed the celebrations at the family friendly festival Titanic Lockdown in the heart of the Titanic Quarter.

They also had the chance to visit St George's Market, take a boat tour of the city, tour the City Hall, visit the Titanica Exhibition at the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum and sample some of the city's cuisine.

"We are delighted to offer this group of key international media a visit to Belfast to learn more about the Titanic and what the rest of the city has to offer visitors," Ruth Burns, NITB's destination marketing and PR manager said. "Titanic Belfast is on par with the world's top class tourist attractions and will help make Belfast a must-see visitor destination on an international scale."
