Linwoods to milk export market

Linwoods dairy has launched Europe's first probiotic and vitamin-enriched fresh milk.

Linwoods Super Healthy Milk is on sale now across Northern Ireland, with the Republic to follow suit, and export deals are already under discussion.

At Stormont yesterday Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster praised the Armagh company, which employs 234 full-time and 47 part-time staff, for its ongoing innovation.

Mrs Foster said: "The export-led innovation which underpins this enterprising company's strategic focus is a key driver of business growth and has led to its success in markets such as the US and in Europe.

"Invest Northern Ireland is keen to encourage and work with companies which exhibit a commitment to the development of highly innovative products and services targeted at opportunities that are continuing to grow in the global marketplace."

Linwoods managing director John Woods said: "There is no product of this kind in Europe at present and its launch serves to confirm our strong position within both the dairy industry and the wider 'healthy eating' sector."
