Lisburn business collects Dragon’s Den Twitter award

Clare Rimmer, who runs Kip McGrath in Lisburn, has been revelling in her success after collecting a Small Business Sunday award from Dragon’s Den star and business expert Theo Paphitis after winning a competition late last year.

Clare, who is in charge of an after-school tuition service for children aged between six and 16, attended the awards event in Birmingham recently to receive her accolade and some priceless advice from the businessman to boot.

Theo’s Small Business Sunday (#sbs) Twitter event has been ongoing since 2010. It encourages small businesses to tell the star about their company and its objectives in one brief tweet.

The six most inspiring businesses are then retweeted by the business guru and invited to Birmingham for an event.

With over 250,000 followers on his Twitter account, Clare’s success in Theo’s SBS is a major achievement and promotion tool for her business.

“Winning Small Business Sunday has allowed us to promote our services to a wider audience,” Clare told the Lisburn Star.

“Getting a retweet from Theo was a huge confidence boost for our business and attending the #sbs winners’ event and getting to meet him in person was the icing on the cake!” she added.
