London paved with gold for Mivan
Co Antrim specialist construction firm Mivan has secured a £3.5m deal to work on a luxury new London hotel.
It is also working on a number of other high-end projects in the capital ahead of the launch of the 2012 Olympic Games.
Work on the ME London building will include the fit-out of public areas including the fine dining restaurant, reception and lobby areas, as well as a 10th floor bar.
The project, for client Melia Hotels International, is under way and Mivan will complete its work by the spring of 2012, opening in time for the Games.
Most of the joinery for the project is being manufactured off-site in Mivan's facility in Antrim town and the company will be working alongside project managers, the global consultancy Gleeds, and architects, Foster and Partners.
Formerly the site of the City Bank building, ME London is being tipped as "an icon of the London hotel industry for both business and leisure travellers".
