The first Applegreen service area for Northern Ireland has opened up on the M2.

The Irish firm will be opening four 24/7 service stations in the province.

There is another planned for the inbound M2, and two more on either side of the M1 near Lisburn.

The company has created around 75 new jobs at the first site in Templepatrick - which also includes the first operation by low-cost English bakery Greggs.

It also contains a Subway, Chopstix, Lavazza Café and Applegreen's own brand, The Bakewell.

There is also an outside play area for children.
