Mobile phone firm expects record hits

MOBILE phone company Orange has predicted a 25% rise in New Year texts. It reported an increase in SMS traffic on December 31 for the past two years, with a record 159m likely to be sent. A spokesman said: "We expect to see a record number being sent, as customers start the New Year with a festive message to friends and family."
