Moy Park invests £10m in upgrade and 100 new jobs
Poultry giant Moy Park is ploughing £10m and creating 100 new jobs at its hatchery and plant in Derbyshire.
The Craigavon-based firm said it is installing a new cutting line and refrigeration technology in the Ashbourne processing plant.
It is also upgrading its hatchery at Ashbourne to increase its capacity to 1.2m chicks per week.
The investment is part of Moy Park's wider growth strategy.
Alan Gibson, Moy Park's UK and Ireland director, said: "This is a really exciting development for Ashbourne which will see the hatchery and the factory transformed into state-of-the art facilities employing the most technologically advanced equipment.
"This multi-million pound investment will meet the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity. It will also ensure we're well placed to meet increasing consumer demand for locally sourced, high quality poultry products.
"We are committed to providing a best-in-class service for our customers and leading the way in terms of product quality and innovation.
"These investments are a very positive development and there is a great feeling of optimism amongst the team as we position the business for continued growth."
