Moyola firm soaring after landing aircraft deal

The Sperrins are alive with the sound of celebration after a Castledawson company won a contract to supply parts for the world's largest passenger aircraft.

Moyola Precision Engineering, which designs and manufactures components for the aerospace industry, has won business with aeronautics firm FACC after the two businesses met up at Paris Air Show earlier this year.

The deal will see Moyola provide two components per aircraft for the construction of the gargantuan Airbus A380.

Moyola was part of the Invest NI group stand at the Paris Air Show and the business support body organised a meeting between FACC and Moyola during the event in June.

Mark Semple, managing director of Moyola Precision Engineering, which employs just over 80 people, said that securing the contract represents a significant milestone in the firm's business development strategy.

"We are optimistic that success in this initial contract may lead to further opportunities with this important customer," he said.

He also praised the support from Invest NI.
