Chicken processor Moy Park is to invest £20m in a new processing facility in Lincolnshire which will create 150 new jobs.

The Craigavon-based firm is building a new convenience food factory which will produce cooked chicken products at its site in Grantham. It will be moving the convenience division of another site in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire to Grantham and "repositioning" Wisbech as a cooked sliced meats division.

"This proposed new development will transform our Grantham site into one of the most efficient state of the art operations of its kind in the UK and Europe," Moy Park CEO Nigel Dunlop said. "It will allow us to continue to successfully grow in line with market opportunities and develop our Convenience Foods division."

The firm, Northern Ireland's largest, said the investment will secure 700 jobs in Grantham.

Moy Park's Executive Director for Convenience Foods and New Business Tony O'Neill said: "This investment will help us increase capacity."
