New markets opening up as £7.5m deal is signed
A Co Tyrone recycling equipment firm has won a £7.5m contract in the Middle East.
Environment Marketing Solutions (EMS) reached the deal to provide four recycling systems to Kurdistan during an Invest NI mission to the region this week.
EMS was one of 20 companies from the province to attend the International Trade Fair in Erbil.
Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster said EMS’ success showed the importance of seizing opportunities in new markets. “With a rapidly growing economy, Kurdistan offers local firms a chance to showcase our range of high quality and innovative products and services,” she said.
Kurdistan’s president and government were keen to strengthen business links, she said.
EMS business development manager Sean McBride said the deal was a “significant” one.
“It is clear evidence of the opportunities which exist for local firms in Kurdistan,” he said.
