Airline LinksAir has made its first flights between Belfast City Airport and Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield.

LinksAir will operate 11 return flights per week between Belfast and Doncaster and is the most recent addition to Belfast City's domestic and European route network.

Belfast City Airport said the route would provide better access to the north of England and East Midlands, while potentially attracting more tourist visitors to Northern Ireland.

Ellie McGimpsey from George Best Belfast City Airport, said: "The introduction of this new route signifies our commitment to developing a supreme route network."

Stephen Gill, managing director of Robin Hood Airport, said: "The Belfast route is a great addition to our offering." He said he expected leisure and business customers.
