New York pensions boss banking on Northern Ireland growth
New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli, whose fund has invested $7m in SMEs here, has visited Ireland.
The Democrat last week held a meeting with Kernel Capital, the fund which has enabled the New York State Common Retirement Fund to invest in businesses here, and some of the companies involved.
The Comptroller manages the $192bn pension fund and audits the spending practices of all NY State agencies.
The New York State Common Retirement Fund - through its fund manager 57 Stars - is an investor in the Bank of Ireland Kernel Capital Growth Fund (NI).
The investment was announced last year, when Mr DiNapoli said the deal was one which would "provide a solid return" for his fund.
