Fashion giant Next is set to open a major new outlet at the Bloomfield Shopping Centre in Bangor.

The retailer is expanding in Northern Ireland once again, opening its latest branch by April next year.

Next will take over the former unit of Northern Ireland home furnishings chain Hanna and Browne.

The firm already has around two dozen stores throughout Northern Ireland.

It will be joined by another Ground Espresso coffee shop, which is opening additional outlets at Next stores across Northern Ireland.

Next's latest offering will take over a large chunk of the Bloomfield shopping centre.

The shopping centre had been owned by Donegall Place Investments, which is headed by KFC tycoon Michael Herbert, but receivers were appointed to the in 2014.

Property agency Colliers was appointed by Ulster Bank to manage the centre last year, though neither the bank nor the agency would comment on the details surrounding the deal.
