Nissan car workers accept pay deal for next two years
Workers at car giant Nissan have accepted a pay deal worth 2.75% in each of the next two years.
Around 7,400 employees based in Sunderland and at the Nissan Technical Centre Europe at Cranfield, Bedfordshire, backed the agreement by 2-1.
There will also be a £750 lump sum next year and an increase in maternity paid leave from January 2017, said Unite.
National officer Tony Murphy said: "This is excellent news for this hardworking and dedicated workforce which has been in the vanguard of the renaissance in the UK car industry in recent years."
