Northern Ireland Assembly chief Stephen Welch takes up new role at Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors

One of the most senior executives in the Northern Ireland Assembly is to head a new grouping of Rics members.

Stephen Welch, the Assembly's Director of Facilities and Keeper of the House, has become the first chair of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors' new Northern Ireland Facilities Management Professional Group.

Mr Welch, whose role at Parliament Buildings covers property and facilities management in areas such as security, maintenance and capital development, will lead a committee of Rics members whose role is to set the strategic direction for the future of the specialism.
