Northern Ireland staff made redundant as photographic chain closes
Staff at a picture studio chain in Co Down have been made redundant as the last remaining Northern Ireland PixiFoto shuts down.
The brand once ran 120 concession stores around the UK. However, this week it announced it would close all its UK stores.
It will now go into liquidation.
The family photography chain had just one Northern Ireland branch left, at Bangor's Bloomfield shopping centre.
Branches in Londonderry, Newry and Lisburn had pulled down the shutters earlier this year. Each of the branches is thought to have employed four people.
A spokesman from Business Recovery and Insolvency (BRI), acting on behalf of PixiFoto, said: "PixiFoto ceased to trade in July, resulting in the immediate closure of all 49 studios.
"The company will be placed into liquidation on August 3."
