Outsourcing company to open new Sky call centre
Outsourcing company Firstsource has announced it is opening a new call centre in Belfast to deal with calls from Sky broadband users.
The centre at Oyster House in Donegall Square will employ 300 people who previously worked for Sky in another outsourcing company.
Indian-owned Firstsource said that it had already been working on a Sky contract for 10 years but that a new deal had been reached for the next three years.
A spokesman for Firstsource said: "This new business growth for Firstsource is an extension of the company's strategic partnership with the UK's largest entertainment and communications company."
The new centre is close to Firstsource's other Belfast premises on Linenhall Street.
Firstsource also employs over 1,000 staff in Londonderry - who also work on the Sky account - and is set to open another contact centre in Cardiff in June.
In total, the company currently employs 1,700 people in Northern Ireland.
