Owners want May Day moved to autumn

Almost half of all UK small businesses would like to see the May Day bank holiday moved to the autumn in future years, new research shows.

Managers and owners of small and medium-sized enterprises say the proximity of the May Day holiday to Easter makes for disruption to their businesses and often leaves them facing a dilemma about whether they should give employees the day off or not.
