Porsche showroom work under way at Belfast Titanic Quarter
Work has begun on a new £6m Porsche car dealership in the Titanic Quarter in Belfast.
It is due to open in December, owned and operated by The Agnew Group.
Work has started at a brownfield site, led by Co Londonderry firm Heron Bros.
Those behind the new garage said it would be 28,000 sq feet, with the capacity for 15 cars - double the size of the existing showroom at Boucher Road.
The news comes more than a year after the Belfast Telegraph first revealed the plans.
Yuile Magee, of The Agnew Group, said: "Our opening of the Porsche showroom is a reflection not only of the success of the Porsche brand, but also of our strength and presence in the local car market. The Agnew Group is synonymous with premium brands and excellent customer service, and this new showroom is a natural progression for us as we develop our business further."
The new centre will include a larger selection of new and used Porsche cars, a customer lounge and hospitality facilities. It is understood staff at Boucher Road will relocate.
Chris Craft, managing director of Porsche Cars Great Britain, said: "We are delighted that our presence in Northern Ireland is being strengthened with this investment by The Agnew Group.
"We are very proud of the new facilities and services it will be able to provide."
Porsche servicing company McMillan Porsche this week announced it was expanding its Antrim premises. Figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders show a 7% increase in the number of Porsches sold here in 2016 to 220.
