Rasharkin firm Woodland Kitchens lands £2m contract after trade show

A kitchen manufacturer has won a £2m contract after attending a trade exhibition in London.

The deal secured by Woodland Kitchens in Rasharkin is the largest in its history of designing and making kitchens, bedrooms and bathroom units.

Brian McCloskey, managing director of Woodland Kitchens which employs around 60 people, described the deal as "immensely important".

He said recent business in Great Britain is becoming a key growth market for the business.

"We secured the business, which is with a major national distributor, because of our design led partnership approach," he said.

Mr McCloskey said the company, which he founded with his wife Gloria in 2009, aimed to double its turnover by 2015.

"The best way to achieve this is by investing time and other resources on building relationships in Britain and other markets," he added.
